Two men were injured in separate traffic accidents on Friday evening, the police said.

In the first accident, which took place on the Strand in Gizra at 7pm, a 61-year-old Italian man was hit by a Peugeot 508 that was being driven by a 33-year-old man of Marsascala. The pedestrian suffered grievous injuries.

The second accident, which took place at 9pm in Lunzjata Street, Santa Venera, involved a Kymco Agility bike and a Kia Avella driven by a 68-year-old man of Msida.

The biker was a 37-year-old man of Msida, who was grievously hurt.
