A man was critically injured after he fell off a ladder in a private residence in Zejtun, the police said.

The accident took place in Qadi Street at noon on Friday.

The police said that the man, aged 69 of Zejtun, fell a height of one storey.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Gatt is leading an inquiry.
