President of Malta George Vella, Prime Minister Robert Abela, Leader of the Opposition Bernard Grech and other distinguished guests lay wreaths on the War Memorial on the occasion of Remembrance Day.

The ceremony took place on Sunday.

Remembrance Day recalls those who lost their lives in the two world wars, and has been celebrated since the end of the First World War on the second Sunday of November - days after the anniversary of the signing of the armistice which ended World War One on 11 November 1918.

President George Vella led proceedings at the ceremony, which took place at the foot of the War Monument in Floriana.
