A Serbian man has been arrested in connection with three thefts from houses in Sannat, Gozo, police said on Monday.

Police said that the man, who is 40 years old, lived in Sannat itself and was arrested after a string of thefts in the last few weeks in the sleepy Gozitan village.

Personal items, money, jewellery and some electronic equipment was stolen from the houses.

The alleged thief was identified soon after and arrested at his own residence, where some of the objects which had been stolen were found.

The man is set to be charged in the Gozitan courts on Monday evening.
