A motorcyclist was critically injured on Wednesday afternoon following a traffic accident in Luqa, the police said.

The accident took place in Hal Far Road at 2pm.

It involved an Isuzu TFR driven by a 58-year-old man of Siggiewi, a Mitsubishi RVR driven by a 31-year-old man of Zabbar and the biker, a 31-year-old man of Birzebbuga who was riding a Peugeot Tweet.

The biker was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
