As expected, Malta suffered a heavy defeat against Group winners Serbia in the third and final match of Group C.

Serbia dominated the game confirming the great difference between the top nations and the rest.

Serbia won all four sessions with relative ease, with the Maltese doing their best but this was surely not enough.

The side led by Milan Cirovic now has to focus on the important match against Slovenia in the semi final for placings between the 13th and 16th place.

Malta’s match against Slovenia will be played Thursday at 8.15pm.
