Ruth Sciberras has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Social Care Standards Authority (SCSA). She was previously the CEO of Aġenzija Sapport, a position she held since November 2019.
Sciberras has 25 years of experience within the social sector and throughout this time, she has served in numerous positions related to the protection of children, persons with disabilities, and victims of domestic violence.
She used to be the director of operations within Aġenzija Appoġġ as well as part of the Maltese delegation that assisted the Maltese government in drawing up a number of international agreements related to adoption.
Following her time as Chief Executive of Aġenzija Sapport, she had worked within the Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights. In the last two years, Sciberras played a central role in implementing the Positive Parenting Strategy. Her experience within the field of domestic violence then saw her being appointed as the Chairperson of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Meetings (MARAM) just last year.
