A motorcyclist suffered injuries as he was involved in a traffic accident in Luqa on Wednesday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at around 8:30am in Triq Hal-Luqa, in Luqa.

Preliminary investigations showed that the accident was between a Piaggio Vespa being ridden by a 49-year-old man from Luqa and a Range Rover being driven by a 28-year-old woman from Tarxien.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that their investigations are ongoing.
