A point for each side between Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara in a match which ended in a goalless draw.

This result meant that there was no change of position for the respective sides with Sliema Wanderers keeping on to third place whereas the Stripes sharing fifth place with Hibernians and Naxxar Lions.

Birkirkara gave debuts to Edward Sarpong and Andrea Zammit, the latter playing against a team managed by his father. On the other hand the Wanderers missed the Services of prolific striker Vito Plut who suffered an injury in their last match.

In the first round match between these two sides Birkirkara emerged winners by a solitary goal.

In a half that missed action on 20 minutes an Acheampong shot was turned onto a corner by Zapytowski.

Birkirkara responded through Andrea Zammit but his shot failed to reach the desired target.  And two minutes from the break Sliema Wanderers ventured forward once again but a shot by Samuel Gomes from the edge of the area was easy prey for the Stripes goalkeeper.

For the second half the only thing that changed was the ends since play was once again dull with neither team taking control.

Twenty minutes from the end Andrea Zammit tried to find substitute Ciolacu but failed in doing so.

This was the best period  for Birkirkara and on 74 minutes they had their best chance of the match when Zammit found Ciolacu and the Stripes forward after rounding Al Tumi had his conclusion cleared on the fatal line.
