On the occasion of International Women's Day, HSBC Malta Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women in need through its annual donation drive. This initiative, aimed at aiding women affected by violence, mental health issues, homelessness, and other adversities, has once again demonstrated the power of community and compassion.

This year, HSBC Malta, in collaboration with twelve local schools and two generous suppliers, has successfully gathered a significant collection of essential items which will be going towards twenty local NGOs. Donations include a variety of toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorants, as well as essential items like blankets and food stuffs all destined for women who are navigating challenging circumstances.

Among the enthusiastic participants were students from the Prince's Trust International Achieve Programme.

The donations were presented in a special event on March 6th, at the HSBC Head Office boardroom in Valletta, which, once again (after the Christmas Donations) for one day, has been transformed from a conventional corporate space into a vibrant bazaar brimming with kindness and community spirit.

"A sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute to the well-being of others were palpable among the students. They were keenly aware of the impact their contributions could make and eagerly participated in the drive," said Alexia Brincau Assistant Head at Mater Boni Consilii, St Joseph Paola who was closely involved with the initiative.

Glenn Bugeja, Corporate Sustainability Manager at HSBC, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the community's effort. "The overwhelming support from students, schools, and suppliers exemplifies a collective commitment to fostering a more supportive and inclusive society. Through initiatives like this donation drive, we are not only providing essential items to those in need but also sending a message of solidarity and hope. It's heartening to see our corporate spaces repurposed to facilitate such meaningful engagement and support for our community," said Bugeja.
