The founder of the Stray Cats NGO said she is seeking financial assistance, and is willing to loan her personal jewellery, to be able to pay bills and other expenses related to the taking care of over 300 cats.
Miriam Borg Debrincat, the founder of Kitty Guardian for Strays, wrote on social media that she is willing to part ways temporarily with her wedding and engagement rings to be able to cover the expenses.
In a Facebook post, she stated that the bills, totalling more than €4,800, are putting immense pressure on the NGO, making it increasingly difficult to secure food for the cats.
Borg Debrincat emphasized that the NGO continues to feed over 300 cats, but expressed doubts about its ability to sustain this effort.
She said that last year alone, the NGO spent a substantial €64,000 on food, veterinary bills, and other necessities, and lamented that the situation is deteriorating.
