A motorcyclist was injured in a traffic accident in Santa Lucija on Sunday morning.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at around 8am in Triq Hal-Luqa in Santa Lucija, and involved a Honda Fit being driven by a 43-year-old man from Kalkara and a Kawasaki Ninja which was being ridden by a 51-year-old man from Santa Venera.

The motorcyclist was given medical attention on site and taken to Materi Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
