A man suffered serious injuries after he fell while trying to get into a residence that he had locked himself out of.

Police said that they were called to a residence in Triq il-Kappella tal-Mirakli in Attard at 1:15pm on Monday.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 75-year-old man from Attard had fallen the height of a storey after he had tried to jump from one part of the property he was in to another, because he had locked himself out.

A medical team was called to the site, and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Marsanne Farrugia is leading an inquiry while police investigations are also ongoing.
