President of Malta George Vella, Prime Minister Robert Abela and Leader of the Opposition Bernard Grech participated in a wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of Freedom Day.
The ceremony was held at the monument dedicated to Freedom Day in Vittoriosa.
Biritsh military presence in Malta ended on 31 March, 1979.
