One of three planed owned by the Armed Forces of Malta has seen its facilities upgraded to be better equipped while flying, the government said Friday.

€8 million were spent, the Ministry for Home Affairs said, and this follows the €53 million spent on a new patrol boat.

The ministry said that the AFM has three KingAir planes and the project of renewing the systems of one of them, which was partially financed by EU funds, was intended to provide the plane with better tools to carry out its duty during flights over the sea. It added that this modernization of the plane’s electronic systems has also increased its communications capacity.
