Updated: Two boys injured, one of them critically, after being hit by car in separate accidents

Two boys were hurt, one of them critically, agfter being hit by cars in separate accidents on Tuesday.

A boy aged 13 was critically injured after he was hit by a car in Santa Lucija, the police said.

The accident took place in Katerina Vitale Street at 11.15.

The boy was hit by a Toyota Auris driven by a 49-yeat-old man of Fgura. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry.

In a second accident, which took place 15 minutes later in Alamein Road, Pembroke, a 12-year-old boy was hurt when he was also hit by a car.

The boy was hit by a Nissan Qashqai driven by a 29-year-old man of Pembroke.

He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
