Following the news that the court found enough prima facie evidence for the case against Joseph Muscat, Keith Schembri, Konrad Mizzi, and others to go on, the Nationalist Party has called for Prime Minister Robert Abela to immediately revoke privileges given to his predecessor.
"Robert Abela should immediately halt the privileges he is giving to Joseph Muscat, including the use of a Maltese Diplomatic Passport" and his personal use of the Sa Maison office, the party said.
The Opposition, through its Shadow Minister for Justice, Karol Aquilina, said that the court's decision is another confirmation that these persons have a lot to answer for, that Prime Minister Robert Abela should recognize these developments, and that all the accused persons should be immediately removed from government and the Labour Party.
"No Prime Minister who respects his office and his country can treat someone like Joseph Muscat as their political partner," the statement read.
The PN's representative stated that Abela "should start considering Muscat for what he truly is: a person accused before the Court of very serious crimes."
The PN's statement concluded by reiterating the party's "full confidence" in the country's judges and magistrates, whom it said are working while overcoming obstacles created by people "like Joseph Muscat" who "do everything to prevent justice from being done."
