This week, Eden Leisure Group with the InterContinental Malta, presented a cheque of €10,000 to the Love Kitchen, part of the Millennium Chapel, Paceville. This donation is part of Eden's ongoing initiative, launched at the beginning of the year, whereby funds are raised through the hotel's various catering establishments.

The Love Kitchen was set up last year with the aim of providing meals to people in need, including the homeless. Indeed, any person in need of a good meal and some company is welcome. Father Hilary, Director of Love Kitchen, expressed his gratitude: "We are grateful to the Eden Leisure Group and InterContinental Hotel Management and staff for this great idea of twinning with Love Kitchen which is helping out the homeless and less fortunate in an affluent society."

Kate de Cesare, Chief Sustainable Officer of the Eden Leisure Group, highlighted the importance of this initiative: "Most of us aren't aware of the prevalence of homelessness and loneliness in Malta, let alone in the St Julian's area. We are grateful to be able to offer some assistance to such a strong pillar in our community. The Love Kitchen, under the direction of Fr Hilary, is addressing some very pressing issues and supporting those marginalised in our locality."

At the presentation, senior staff from the InterContinental Malta delivered many pre-cooked dishes, prepared by their chefs, to be served on the day and to be stored for future meals.  The staff were on hand to serve the Love Kitchen's visitors, to mingle and to clean up afterwards.

The Eden Leisure Group strongly believes in community outreach and supports various organisations in Malta with financial and in-kind contributions.  The group, being based in St Julians, embarked on this project with the Love Kitchen to offer support to its direct community.
