A biker was grievously injured on Saturday evening following a collision with a car in Paola, the police said.

The accident happened in Santa Lucija Avenue at 9pm.

The biker, a 71-year-old man from Birkirkara, was riding a Suzuki Hayabusa which was involved in a crash with a BMW X1 driven by a 62-year-old man of Pembroke.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
