A 23-year-old man has died after he suffered head injuries while working at his private property on Tuesday afternoon, police said on Wednesday morning.

Police said in a statement that the incident happened at 5pm in Triq il-Witja in Tarxien, and preliminary investigations showed that a 23-year-old man from Tarxien was working on a property he owns and suffered some head injuries.

The man was later identified as David Wellman.

He was given first aid by a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital, however he was certified dead a little bit later.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry, while police are establishing the dynamics of the accident.
