On Friday at around 7.30pm, the Police were informed of a traffic accident on Triq il-Palma, Paola.

The Police went to the scene, and preliminary investigations revealed that a 28-year-old man from St. Julian's, who was driving an Isuzu Elf truck, lost control and crashed into a tree and a residential wall.

The victim was assisted by a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Later, he was certified to have sustained serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case, and an inquiry was opened, while Police investigations are still ongoing.
