On the occasion of Fgura Day 2024, the musical concert "Let There Be Music" will be staged at the local church on Friday 25 October at 7.30pm.
During the concert, with an orchestra of around 45 musicians and a choir under the direction of Mro Simon Ellul, there will be played 'Trafalgar 1805', an original composition by Ellul which tells in a musical way the Battle of Trafalgar that took place in 1805 between the British fleet and the fleets of France and Spain at Cape Trafalgar.
Soprano Lara Azzopardi, singer Maria Zahra Brincat and Tenor Aldo Busuttil will take part with the orchestra.
Some of the music that will be played during the concert include 'Music of the Night' from the musical 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Con te Partiro', 'Vivo per Lei' and 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' from the musical 'Evita'.
The concert will be staged by Councilor Mark Lombardo who is in charge of Education and the Fgura Day.
