There were no injuries after a ceiling collapsed inside a building in Santa Venera on Monday afternoon.

Police told The Malta Independent that the collapse happened in Cannon Road in Santa Venera at around 4:30pm.

A ceiling collapsed into the basement of the building underneath, but police said that nobody was in the building – which is believed to be a warehouse – at the time.

No injuries were reported, but members of the Civil Protection Department, Police, and several ambulances were dispatched to the scene as a precaution.

The collapse happened not far from the house-collapse which took the life of Miriam Pace.
