The bus driver who on Monday was seriously injured in a traffic accident in St Julian's died in hospital on Tuesday, the police said.

The driver, a man aged 37, resident in Marsascala, was driving a bus which was involved in a traffic collision with a Ford Torneo on the Regional Road.

The driver, the police said, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.

The driver of the van, a woman aged 39 of Naxxar, was unhurt.

The driver has been named as Hussain Shah, from Pakistan, a father of four.

He joined Malta Public Transport earlier this year after working as a bus driver and school bus driver in the United Arab Emirates, Tallinja Facebook page reported.
