Today, at around 11:00 a.m, the police were informed of a traffic accident on Għeriexem Road, Rabat.

The police immediately went to the scene, and preliminary investigations revealed that a 56-year-old woman residing in San Ġwann lost control of the Suzuki Alto she was driving, colliding with a light pole and a wall. An 83-year-old elderly woman, also a resident of San Ġwann, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both women received assistance from a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department and were transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Later, the elderly woman was certified as having sustained grievous injuries, while the driver was certified with minor injuries.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
