The Gozo Ministry is nothing more than a "glorified local council", former Prime Minister Alfred Sant writes today.
It has been less than effective in setting Gozo's strategic objectives which was done from Malta, apart perhaps from the adoption of political buzz words and slogans, he writes in his bi-weekly column on The Malta Independent.
"Strategic choices were all either fudged or remained pending," Sant said, also adding that the "person responsible for the ministry" (in clear reference to Minister Clint Camilleri) "enjoys clear power of political patronage and control over the running of some ongoing infrastructural works".
"Infrastructural spending (on Gozo) remained weak, except for some bizarre cases," Sant wrote.
