PN MP Karol Aquilina has asked the Speaker to give a ruling obliging the Prime Minister and all his Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to publish their declaration of assets for the year 2023, as these are yet to be presented.
Aquilina spoke in Parliament on Tuesday and quoted several parliamentary questions which refer to Prime Minister Robert Abela’s reply to another parliamentary question which was answered on Monday.
There, Abela stated that the asset declarations of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries for the year 2023 had been submitted as required by the Manual and were made available to the public.
He also quoted previous rulings regarding referencing and tabling of documents which are already in the public domain.
In light of the responses and rulings, Aquilina requested the Speaker to oblige the Prime Minister, and all the Ministers mentioned to immediately table in the House a copy of their asset declarations for the year 2023.
Last week, the PN had insisted that Abela must immediately publish his declaration of assets, along with all the Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries for 2023.
