Three men were arrested after they were involved in a glass bottle fight in St Julian's , the police said Saturday.

The fight took place at 4.30an in Dragonara Road.

Officers who were called on site found the men with glass bottles engaging in a fight.

One of the three men, aged 24 of Marsascala, approached the police in an aggressive way holding a broken glass bottle, forcing the officers to use a taser gun to bring him under control.

At the same time, another of the men, aged 28 of Zabbar, attacked another officer.

All three men - the other is aged 27, also of Marsascala - were taken to hospital for treatment.

The 28-year-old was found to have suffered grievous injuries.

The three men are set to be charged in court in the coming days.
