Between February 12 and 14, 2025, Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia participated in a series of high-level meetings at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a member of the preparatory committee for the upcoming Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

On February 12, 2025, during the preparatory meeting, he underscored Malta's core diplomatic ethos by stating that, "At the heart of our international engagements is the firm belief that peace lays the foundation for lasting prosperity. Through dialogue and mutual respect, we transform challenges into opportunities for growth and unity, paving the way for a brighter future for all." His remarks set a tone of unity and forward-thinking that resonated throughout the discussions.

Later, Speaker Anġlu Farrugia held a cordial bilateral meeting with Qatar's Deputy Speaker Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, focusing on fostering mutual understanding and exploring potential avenues for future cooperation in a spirit of collegiality.

During February 13 and 14, 2025, the Speaker further contributed at the parliamentary hearings, where discussions centred on sustainable development, transparent financial oversight, and enhanced global cooperation. In these sessions, he highlighted the challenges in mobilising long-term political will for the Sustainable Development Goals and stressed the importance of public engagement and cooperative governance in achieving lasting progress.
