A 74-year-old British national who was reported missing to the police on Sunday was found later in the afternoon that same day, the force said in a statement.

Police said that Michael George Clarkson was last seen in Sliema wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with red symbols on it.

He was described as having grey and black hair and a moustache.

Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward, even anonymously, by phoning the police headquarters on 21224001 or 119, or else by going to the nearest police station.

On Sunday afternoon, the police issued a new statement saying that the man had been found safe and sound.

The police also reminded that Martin Ambinette – a Fgura care home resident who was reported missing last week – has still also not been found, and appealed to the public for assistance.
