A traffic accident at 2.45pm in Gozo between a double-decker bus and a car left one man grievously injured.
The traffic accident occurred on Triq ir-Rabat, Żebbuġ, Gozo.
The Police went on site, where preliminary investigations found that a collision had occurred between an Optare double-decker bus, driven by a 45-year-old man residing in Xewkija, and a Toyota Vitz, driven by a 35-year-old Egyptian man. On board the double-decker were also four foreign passengers - two women and two men, all in their seventies.
A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene to provide assistance. Ambulances took both drivers as well as the four passengers from the double-decker to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.
Later, the passengers were certified to have sustained minor injuries, the 45-year-old driver was unharmed, while the Egyptian man suffered grievous injuries.
Police investigations into this incident are still ongoing.
