The government, through the Lands Authority, has leased a property in Qawra to the St. Paul's Musical Society for the purpose of using it for teaching music within the local community there. This lease was signed for a period of 15 years.

The leased property is located in Triq Domenico de Nizza and will be administered by the St. Paul's Musical Society for educational and musical purposes. The Society dates back to the year 1947.

Lands Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi presided over the signing of this agreement at the St. Paul's Musical Society building by the Society's President, Joseph Vella, as well as by Lands Authority CEO Robert Vella.

This 15-year property lease was described as another important step in this musical society's history in strengthening voluntary work within the locality with more music training.

Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi said that this agreement "is not just about the use of space" but also about the government's commitment to using public property for the benefit of local communities.

"We must continue to give all our support to those organisations that are of service to the community by offering learning services. These organisations keep our culture alive and offer a positive and safe environment for our youth," the Lands Minister said.

He also mentioned that the government shall remain committed in supporting more band clubs, local councils, and NGOs in order to create more united, creative, and active communities.

The President of the St. Paul's Musical Society, Joseph Vella, expressed his appreciation during this signing and explained how his Society shall be using this space. He also praised the collaboration with the Lands Authority plus the assistance provided by his Society's "hardworking" committee.
