The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents concert Gershwin and Bernstein on Thursday 5 June at Fort St Elmo in Valletta.

World-renowned pianist, organist and conductor Wayne Marshall returns to conduct the MPO in a vibrant concert, where he also features as soloist in Gershwin's dynamic Piano Concerto in F. With its upbeat rhythms and bold brass sounds, Girl Crazy Overture by Gershwin, and Bernstein's lively and energetic Three Dance Episodes from On the Town showcase the composers' mastery in merging classical music with jazz and popular styles. Arranged by Robert Russell Bennett, Porgy and Bess - A Symphonic Picture weaves together Gershwin's most iconic melodies into a rich, orchestral work that captures the opera's dramatic spirit.
