Former Infrastructure Malta CEO Ivan Falzon is set to be appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Gozo Regional Development Authority (GRDA), the government announced Friday.
His appointment was made by the Authority's Board of Directors.
Falzon has held senior executive positions across various sectors, including health and infrastructure.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Infrastructure Malta, as well as CEO of the Water Services Corporation and Mater Dei Hospital.
A statement said that his leadership has consistently been characterised by a drive for innovation, efficiency, and public accountability, qualities that make him well-suited to lead the authority into its next phase.
Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri congratulated Falzon and said that his experience and leadership will be crucial for the GRDA to move forward and push its mission, to support Gozo's unique regional identity and its economic growth.
Camilleri recognised the work carried out by Mario Borg during his time as CEO of the authority and wished him well in his new role as Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.
The authority's Chairman Michael Grech welcomed the appointment, saying that Falzon has a strong track record in public sector leadership and a results-oriented mindset.
Grech said that with Falzon at the helm, the authority will continue to be instrumental and impactful in Gozo's sustainable development, while strengthening its relationship with the local community and interested parties.
