A 67-year-old man died early on Friday morning after falling from the roof of his house, police said in a statement.

Police said that it was informed of a request for an assistance in a residence in Triq l-Antinni in Mosta at 7:15am on Friday.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 67-year-old man had fallen around a storey from a room at the top floor of his home.

A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department were on site and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, but he was unfortunately certified dead a short while after arrival.

Magistrate Joseph Mifsud is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
