Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated the newly refurbished priority guest terminal at Malta International Airport, an ambitious project supported by a €4.5 million investment that began in 2024, the government said.

This cutting-edge facility exemplifies Malta's commitment to innovative, high-quality tourism and is poised to elevate the country's status as a premier destination for high-value tourism and global connectivity.

The terminal features five private suites on the first floor, capable of accommodating up to 34 guests simultaneously. Designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind, the lounge area utilises extensive glass, skylights, and natural lighting to reduce reliance on artificial illumination while enhancing the feeling of spaciousness.

Culinary offerings focus on seasonal and local produce, served by a dedicated chef across two kitchens to deliver a fresh, authentic gastronomic experience. In 2024, this service contributed €6.6 million to the airport's revenue, highlighting the increasing demand for luxury travel options.

Abela stated that this terminal reflects our core values: quality over quantity and service rooted in Maltese hospitality.

"It's also part of a broader vision, Malta's Vision 2050, where high-value tourism and global connectivity are not just aspirations, but guiding principles", Abela said. "This airport is a vital part of our national story. Malta's airport is strategic".
