The amount of maternity fund contributions to employed persons in the year 2023 was €9.67 million, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana stated in response to a parliamentary question posed by Independent MP Clayton Bartolo.

Bartolo asked Caruana to state what the amount of maternity fund paid to employed persons was from the years 2019 to 2023.

Minister Caruana replied that in the year 2019, there was over €7.1 million in contributions, and he continued that there was over €6.8 million in contributions in 2020. He added that there were over €8 million in contributions in 2021, and €8.7 million in 2022.
