A man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash in a robbery on a Tarxien shop on Friday, the police said,

The police said they were informed about the robbery at 2pm.

Officers immediately went to the scene where, from preliminary investigations, it resulted that a man, allegedly holding an iron rod, entered the shop and demanded money from the cashier, a 20-year-old woman.

He fled the scene after stealing the cash register containing some cash and other items.

No one was injured, and the Police are continuing their search for the man.

Investigations are ongoing.
