Albanian national Daniel Muka has been sentenced to life in prison with six terms of solitary confinement, while Macedonian Viktor Dragomanski received a 40-year prison sentence for their involvement in the brutal 2020 murders of Chris Pandolfino and his partner Ivor Maciejowski in Sliema, a court ruled Tuesday.

The sentences were handed down in Hall 22 of the law courts by Madam Justice Natasha Galea Sciberras after both men were found guilty of multiple serious charges.

On 28 June, Muka was found guilty of the double homicide, aggravated theft, and other related charges. Dragomanski was convicted of aggravated theft related to the murder and using false licence plates. Both men had pleaded not guilty.

The third man involved in the case, Danish national Jesper Kristiansen, was previously sentenced to 40 years in prison in February 2024.

The jury deliberated for nearly five hours following a 12-day trial.

The prosecution was led by lawyers Maria Francesca Spiteri and Kevin Valletta from the Office of the Attorney General. Dragomanski was represented by lawyers Josè Herrera and Alex Scerri Herrera, while legal aid lawyer Josette Sultana defended Muka. Lawyers Joe and Michaela Giglio appeared on behalf of the victims' relatives.

The murders had shocked the nation, sparking calls for stronger security and judicial reforms.
