Friday, 25 July 2025, 13:42 Last update: about 13 months ago

The Small European Postal Administrations Cooperation (SEPAC), of which MaltaPost is a member, consists of thirteen European postal authorities. Every year, SEPAC launches a joint stamp issue bearing a common theme throughout participating member countries. For 2025, the theme chosen is "Architecture". MaltaPost is issuing a new philatelic set of three stamps that feature notable architectural buildings in Malta and Gozo.

The €0.45 stamp portrays the Church of Saint Catherine of Italy located in Valletta. The baroque façade of the 18th century Seminary building in Mdina is featured on the €1.50 stamp. The €1.91 stamp shows a splendid view of the parish church of Ghajnsielem in Gozo, dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto. It bears the SEPAC logo since this stamp is MaltaPost's official entry for the 2025 joint issue competition. All photography was taken by Maria Christina Bugeja and Mariah Grech.

This set will be issued in a sheet of 10 stamps, with each stamp measuring 31mm x 44mm, a comb perforation 14.1 x 14.2, and bearing the Maltese Cross watermark. The sheets measure 182mm x 115mm and were produced by Printex Ltd in the offset process. The issue consists of 500,000 the €0.45c stamp, 50,000 of the €1.50 stamp and 50,000 of the €1.91 stamp.

These stamps will be available from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo from Tuesday 29 July 2025. Orders may be placed online at www.maltaphilately.com or by mail from the Philatelic Bureau, MaltaPost p.l.c. 305, Qormi Road, Marsa, MTP 1001; Telephone: 2596 1740, e-mail: [email protected]
