Jonathan David scored on his debut as Juventus beat Parma in their Serie A opener.

The Canada striker prodded home Kenan Yildiz's cross with just under an hour played.

Juventus were reduced to 10 men in the 83rd minute when full-back Andrea Cambiaso was shown a straight red card for lashing out at Parma's Mathias Lovik with his arm.

But just a minute later, substitute Dusan Vlahovic settled the outcome with the second goal.

Yildiz could have got on the scoresheet himself, but his strike from the edge of the box was saved by Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki who got down low to push it wide.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Como scored two second-half goals as they beat Lazio.

Greece striker Anastasios Douvikas slotted home after latching on to a through-ball from Nico Paz to open the scoring.

Paz added to his assist with a stunning 30-yard free-kick to seal the three points as Cesc Fabregas' side began their league campaign with a win.

Cagliari held Fiorentina to a 1-1 draw as Pisa obtained a precious point in 1-1 draw away to Atalanta
