The dollar amounts being spent on the development of artificial intelligences are vast and keep growing. The huge US communications technology companies are in a big race between them to move fastest. So are the Chinese. All over the world, the pressure is increasing on factories, means of transport and communications, armies... to set up increasingly more sophisticated equipment endowed with the latest developments in AI.
Meanwhile on the same basis but at different levels, humanity is undergoing (or will have to undergo) huge changes in how life will be lived from birth to death, how to learn and get trained, how to be entertained and communicate, how to work and evaluate issues, how to get old. Perhaps these will the most radical changes ever experienced by man. But we don't even know how far they will go. The general view is that with artificial intelligence, life should become easier, more comfortable and more beautiful. May it does that as its promoters ceaselessly announce. Some forecasters though predict the contrary will happen. Who knows whether the latter might not be right after all.

ONLY GREEN FOOD
What leads some people to never eat meat? A spiritual viewpoint such as the precept to never kill any living thing? The idea that not eating meat is best for the health? Is it a fad? Just a matter of taste? And yet there are others who do not consume at all even animal products like milk and eggs (if I understand correctly, not even honey) while others then are ready to eat only fish (but this may be the remnant of a past steeped in Catholic practices).
What is interesting in all this is that apparently a second category of food not derived from meat is making an appearance. It's being created in laboratories synthetically and in industrial quantities that can be given the tastes of meat or greens. How mistaken we were in the past to believe that with hamburgers and chips, we had arrived at the last frontiers of industrial food.

RIGHT WING EXTREMISM
It certainly is no longer a marginal political phenomenon. Indeed it can now be even regarded as a movement which has gone to the lead in mainstream politics. The Trump administration in the US is making sure that this happens. With inter alia, its ever widening deployment of federal troops to guarantee "security" in streets and to send to prison immigrants, whether they're legal or not; with new controls over what is being taught in universities; by using the Department of Justice to pay back those who have contested it or disagreed with it, and to fight back against demonstrations which being legally conducted...
In the US these developments have been happening regularly and have met with an increasing acceptance by the law courts. No doubt they will spread to other countries as the extreme right keeps on growing. It is already well established now in Israel and Hungary among others. It has been gaining ground because of how it has been able to mobilise because of its justified complaints against some of the exaggerations indulged in by liberalism. This has served as a base from which to widen its attacks against tolerance, against freedom of speech and against racism, the battle which should never be abandoned.
