A rally in favour of abortion was organised by the Voice for Choice coalition on Saturday in Valletta.

The message of the protestors was that "abortion is not a crime, and no one should be forced into fear, stigma, or silence when seeking healthcare".

The rally came in the wake of recent prosecutions of women in Malta for abortion, including cases where patients were reported by healthcare professionals. Activists stressed that this climate of fear pushes people into unsafe situations and sends a dangerous message: stay at home and risk your life if you face complications.
