Qala and Nadur officials suspended for one year after heated touchline clash

Qala Saints president Noel Mizzi and Nadur Youngsters coach Paul Azzopardi have both received a one-year suspension from the Gozo Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Commissioner following a touchline altercation during last weekend's Division One encounter between the two rival sides.

The confrontation erupted in the 73rd minute after Nadur player Joseph Xerri was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge. According to Nadur Youngsters, as Xerri made his way toward the dressing room - passing by the Qala Saints bench - he was allegedly subjected to racial remarks from a Qala official.

This led to a scuffle involving Mizzi and Azzopardi, prompting police intervention to calm the situation.

Following the match, Nadur Youngsters issued a statement strongly condemning the incident and reaffirming their stance against any form of unsporting behaviour.
