At the first-ever National Cyber Awards organised by the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) held as part of the CYBER ROOT 2025 conference, Diligex was honoured with the prestigious Cybersecurity CSR Award, underscoring its ongoing commitment to cyber awareness, education, and resilience across Malta's business community.

The award celebrates Diligex's belief that cyber risk is not merely a matter limited to IT departments but a company-wide responsibility that affects every individual within an organisation. By engaging with the public and providing continuous training, collaboration, intelligence and awareness, Diligex has been driving a culture of collective responsibility and proactive defence.

Amongst its initiatives earlier this year, Diligex spearheaded a flagship business breakfast "Safety in an Online World: Cyber Threats, Risks and Resilience", held in collaboration with Times of Malta, MITA, the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre NCC-MITA, and Thomas Murray UK. The initiative served as a platform to elevate public understanding of digital threats, aligning closely with Malta's national cybersecurity objectives while reinforcing Diligex's long-term dedication to community education and innovation. During this event, through directors from Thomas Murray UK, the public was presented with an intelligence study on the Maltese landscape covering a sample of over 300 organisations across different sectors.

Diligex has also organized public webinars collaborating with various entities on DORA and cyber security, as well as sharing keynote insights during sectoral conferences all with the intent of providing training and awareness to equip and collaborate with various sectors.

"Our approach has always been rooted in empowering organisations not to fear risk but to make informed, confident decisions with proportionate mitigation," said Matthew Agius Mamo, CEO of Diligex. "Ultimately, collaboration and awareness are two key factors to protecting the ecosystem we collectively depend on."

This philosophy is a reflection of the company's core values in providing peace of mind and efficiency, contributing towards maintaining a safe eco-system and elevating the jurisdiction.

Diligex also expresses its gratitude to its strategic partner, Thomas Murray (cyber.thomasmurray.com), whose global expertise in attack surface management, cyber advisory, and incident response plays an essential role in helping organisations secure their ecosystems against evolving threats. "Our partnership with Thomas Murray allows us to combine local understanding with world-class intelligence and advisory capabilities," added Agius Mamo.

The award ceremony took place during CYBER ROOT 2025, Malta's leading cybersecurity conference hosted by MITA under the theme "Empowering Resilience. Protecting Our Digital Future." During the event, Matthew Agius Mamo joined Jonathan Cassar, MITA's Chief Information Security Officer, for an introductory fireside chat setting the scene for the day. The session explored the human side of cybersecurity. Cassar's message that "cybersecurity is a team sport" resonated strongly with the audience, capturing the collaborative spirit that defined the event.

Diligex congratulates all fellow award winners and nominees for their outstanding contributions to Malta's cybersecurity landscape and extended special recognition to MITA for its continued leadership and efforts to safeguard public sector and citizens' data through strategic innovation and collaboration.

As the conference closed, one message stood out clearly: cybersecurity is a shared responsibility that extends far beyond technology, demanding unity, foresight, and a commitment to resilience. "Cybersecurity is a panorama" as described by MITA CEO Ing Emanuel Darmanin at the event.
