A Journey Through Song — Joseph Lia and Natalia Rakhmatulina in Concert

Monday, 3 November 2025, 13:56 Last update: about 8 months ago

Music lovers are invited to a Classical Vocal Evening with baritone Joseph Lia and pianist Natalia Rakhmatulina on Tuesday, 5 November at 7pm at the La Valette Hall, Mediterranean Conference Centre.

The concert will take audiences on a musical voyage across time and emotion, featuring works by Bach, Brahms, Schumann, Chopin, Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Mozart, Verdi, and Maltese composers Joseph Vella and Charles Camilleri.

From Bach's serene Komm, süßer Tod to Brahms' deeply human O Tod, wie bitter bist du, the programme moves through the Romantic landscapes of Schumann's Ich grolle nicht, Chopin's Nocturne No. 20, and Schubert's Moment musical. The passion of Glinka and Tchaikovsky, the drama of Verdi and Mozart, and the vibrant Maltese spirit of Vella's Li kieku kont and Camilleri's Festa complete this rich tapestry of song.
