The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anġlu Farrugia, departed Malta this morning for Cairo, Egypt, where he will participate in the Forum and Speaker's Summit on "Promotion of Economic Cooperation between the Two Shores of the Mediterranean: Revitalising the Barcelona Process on its 30th Anniversary".

The high-level gathering, organised under the Egyptian Presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM), will bring together Speakers, parliamentarians and senior officials from across the Mediterranean region.

Speaker Farrugia is leading a Maltese parliamentary delegation composed of Carmelo Abela, Amanda Spiteri Grech and Bernice Bonello, and will be assisted by Mr Ian Bajada.
