EY and Microsoft have launched the AI Skills Passport (AISP) in Malta, a free online learning programme designed to help students aged 16+ understand artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can be applied across different industries and career paths. The programme was introduced locally during EY Generate, EY's annual conference for students.

As part of a wider social impact collaboration, the AI Skills Passport supports young people, especially those furthest from opportunity, in building the AI capabilities required to succeed in today's rapidly evolving digital economy. The initiative aims to upskill one million learners worldwide.

Accessible on both web and mobile, the self-paced 10-hour course covers the fundamentals of AI, ethical and responsible AI practices, and practical applications across business, sustainability and technology. Upon completion, participants receive a co-branded EY-Microsoft certificate, which can strengthen CVs and unlock further learning and employment opportunities.

The launch in Malta builds on a series of successful rollouts in other countries, reflecting the programme's ambition to create an inclusive learning environment that reaches diverse communities regardless of geography or socio-economic background. This aligns with the broader EY Ripples goal to positively impact one billion lives by 2030.

Speaking at EY Generate, Ronald Attard, EY Malta Country Managing Partner, encouraged students to imagine their future and the role they want to play in shaping Malta's growth.

"Artificial intelligence isn't just a buzzword; it's transforming how we live, learn, and work. With the AI Skills Passport, you'll gain hands-on experience and insights that will set you apart, no matter which path you choose."

As AI continues to reshape industries and redefine job roles, initiatives like the AI Skills Passport represent more than just education - they provide essential tools for navigating a changing world. Thanks to the ongoing collaboration between EY and Microsoft, the future of learning and work is becoming more accessible, more innovative and more inclusive.
