Raymond Caruana Garden in Gudja has reopened to the public following the completion of an extensive regeneration and beautification project carried out by the Department of Public Works.

The Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, Chris Bonett, visited the site after the works were completed. The project included new landscaping and planting, refurbishment of gazebos, installation of new benches and amenities, modern lighting, security cameras and new paving designed to complement the surrounding area. The garden's fountain was also repaired and fitted with a new mechanical system.

The minister said the project forms part of the government's commitment to investing in open spaces for the benefit of families and communities. He said the garden has been transformed into a modern and attractive public space where residents can spend time together in a safe and pleasant environment.

Gudja mayor Romeo Baldacchino said the project reflects close cooperation between central government and local councils, and that the upgraded garden strengthens the identity of the area while meeting present-day community needs.

The regenerated garden is intended to continue serving as an important green space at the heart of Gudja.
