Birkirkara by-pass and a main arterial road in Qormi will be closed to traffic for some nights next week, Infrastructure Malta said.

Weather permitting, on the nights of the coming week from Monday 19 January to Saturday 24 January 2026, every night from 8pm to 10pm, Triq Dun Karm, the Birkirkara bypass in the direction from Tal-Qroqq towards Lija, Iklin and Balzan, will be open on one lane for road resurfacing works. From 10pm to 5am of the following morning, both lanes will be closed.

The sole exception will be on Wednesday night, where the carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 5am.

The route from Iklin towards Tal-Qroqq will not be affected. Drivers are urged to plan their journey in advance and use Triq Giovanni Papaffy, Birkirkara, when travelling towards Lija, Iklin, and Balzan.

Infrastructure Malta also said that Manwel Dimech Street in Qormi - the street where Pavi is situated - will be closed from Monday 19 until Wednesday 21 January 2026 between 9pm and 5am to allow for the installation of concrete barriers.
